Guide: Springtime Events in Paso Robles

Right around mid-March, once the rolling hills have gone from gold to green and wildflowers line the winding wine country roads — that’s when Paso Robles comes to life.

It’s springtime on the Central Coast and we know we’re not the only ones itching to get outside and make the most of these sunny-and-75° conditions. So here’s a list of Paso’s best upcoming events and festivals to help you plan a getaway this season. The best part? Most are just a short scenic drive or bike ride away from Nomada’s charming Farmhouse downtown or River Lodge, which sits at the crossroads of Highway 46 x Highway 101.

Vina Robles Amphitheatre Concert Season

The concert season at wine country’s finest live music venue begins April 18th and runs throughout the summer featuring legendary musical acts from The Avett Brothers and ZZ Top to comedians like George Lopez.   

Barrelhouse Brewing Concert Series 

This popular Tin City brewery hosts beloved local bands and up-and-coming country artists at their intimate amphitheater almost every weekend. And if trivia or bingo are your kind of thing, there’s plenty of beer-fueled game nights happening throughout the week, too! 

Downtown Spring Wine Walk

Saturday, April 27th, 2-5pm

Sip, snack, and stroll from tasting room to tasting room while enjoying a diverse selection of great wine paired with gourmet bites from 17 wineries that make up Paso’s Downtown Wine District. The $60 ticket includes one special tasting and a perfectly paired hors d'oeuvre at each stop.

SLO Film Festival “Paso Encore”

May 2nd - 5th

An extension of the SLO International Film Fest, cinephiles are invited to enjoy exclusive film screenings, wine tastings, dining specials, and Q&As with filmmakers. 

Olive & Lavender Festival

May 11th, 10am - 5pm

There’s more to Paso than just wine so come get a taste of the region’s other prized crops – olives and lavender! The downtown city park will be buzzing with free olive oil tastings, demonstrations, live music, and more. This event is free to the public but there will be food, wine, beer, and spirits available for purchase. 

Paso Wine Fest

May 16th - 19th

Arguably the most anticipated week of the year, Paso’s Wine Festival has been the marquee showcase for Paso Robles wine for over 40 years. And on Saturday, May 18th, 100+ wineries will come together at the Paso Robles Event Center for the Grand Tasting. Included with your ticket, enjoy tastings, complimentary culinary bites, samples from craft distillers, live music, boutique booths, and more.

Concerts in the Park

Thursdays, June 13 - August 22nd

Starting mid-June, join the community 6-8 pm on Thursday evenings through late August to enjoy free music in the downtown city park. Pack a picnic and enjoy the sounds of beloved local bands under the shade of the heritage oak trees. Click here to view the series lineup for the 2024 season. 

California Mid-State Fair

July 17th - 28th

It’s “the biggest little fair anywhere” and it’s back for its 78th anniversary. Over 12 days, enjoy everything from carnival rides and country rodeo finals to craft cocktail competitions and concerts by some of music’s biggest names. 

Distillery Trail Weekend

August 9th - 11th

3 days, 13 distilleries, one hell of a good time. Paso Robles is home to California’s only designated distillery trail and to celebrate, each distillery will treat guests to a variety of experiences throughout the weekend.
